Zinc is needed for the body to manufacture Sodium Oxide Dismutase, an antioxidant enzyme that serves as a primary defense against "free" radicals.
- Infertility
Zinc is involved with the regulation of the reproductive organs and exists in high concentrations in sperm and semen, thus a deficiency may decrease sperm count.
- Pre-menstrual Syndrome
There is growing evidence that a zinc deficiency may cause a decrease in the progesterone level in women, and low levels of progesterone are associated with PMS.

1. Zinc supplementation has been shown to reduce stunting, a growth problem associated with 30% of the worlds children, especially prevalent with poor children

Available Zinc Products from Cypress Cypress' Zinc Yeast is an excellent source of bio-available zinc. This product can be used for :
- tableting as a single entity, or
- combining with other vitamins and minerals to create a multivitamin.
Cypress can also produce fortified Zinc Yeast to meet various formula specifications. The maximum potency level of 3,450 MCG / gram can be obtained for customers who desire a zinc product with the supplemented mineral internalized within the yeast. Higher potencies (5 mg/kg) can be produced at customer's request. Products of this nature are not organically bound and are produced through a blending and spray drying process.
